Melanie Sattler, Ph.D., P.E. serves as the Syed Qasim Endowed Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. Her research interests include energy from waste, air quality and life-cycle assessment of environmental impacts. In 19 years at UTA, she has served as Principal or Co-Investigator for over 35 projects, sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, National Science Foundation, and other entities. She and her students have authored over 250 journal articles, conference presentations, and reports. Dr. Sattler received her Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
