Jason Sloan has served as the Executive Director for the Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies (AAPCA) since January 2018. AAPCA is a national, non-profit organization focused on assisting state and local air quality agencies and personnel with implementation and technical issues associated with the federal Clean Air Act. The Association represents 48 state and local air pollution control agencies, with senior officials from 21 state environmental agencies on the AAPCA Board of Directors. He joined the organization as Policy & Membership Director in April 2016. AAPCA is affiliated with The Council of State Governments and located in Lexington, Kentucky. As AAPCA’s Executive Director, Mr. Sloan coordinates with leadership and technical staff at air agencies and U.S. EPA to provide a national forum for Clean Air Act implementation, including through 12 committees and national meetings. He has also led or co-authored numerous reports and articles for the organization, including a May 2023 article on the impact of the proposed particulate matter (PM) standards reconsideration on state and local air agencies. He has a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and a master’s degree from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
