David J. Long is a Environmental Engineer Staff in the Permitting Services Section of Environmental Services for the American Electric Power Service Corporation in Columbus, Ohio. He has 41 years of utility experience, the last 35 years in his present position where he handles Air Quality Compliance and Permitting matters for various company facilities as well as serving as the Air Quality Modeling and Analysis lead for AEPSC. Mr. Long received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology (now a Division of West Virginia University) in 1981 and a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies (now part of the Marshall University Graduate College) in 1986. Mr. Long represents American Electric Power on several Utility Industry Environmental Committees. He is past Chair of the Air and Wastes Management Association’s Atmospheric Modeling and Meteorology Committee and is currently Chair of the Technical Council. Mr. Long is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.
