Women's Professional Development Workshop and Luncheon: The Great Resignation – The Good, The Bad and The New Working Environment

This workshop is open to everyone and will feature an extraordinary panel of accomplished women discussing the impacts of the Great Resignation on their lives and the working environment. Planned by the Committee for the Professional Development of Women, but this topic is applicable to everyone working in the industry!

In 2021, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the workforce started to experience an extremely heightened rate of voluntary resignation. “The Great Resignation” is a dramatic shift in the relationship between employees and their employers with almost 50 million workers in the US quitting their jobs in 2021. Women outpaced men by 1.1% overall and this gender gap is even more significant where women are underrepresented, such as STEM careers.

Specifically, the panel will discuss:
-The current state of the Great Resignation
-Impacts of “Quiet Quitting”
-“Resignation” vs. “Reshuffle”
-Opportunities and challenges created by this current state
-Personal accounts of the impacts to work and home life
-Impact differences based on gender
-Where does our industry go from here?
-What does this mean to the new and upcoming generations as well as those heading toward retirement?
